Ministry and Oversight Committee

Purpose: Oversee quality of ministry in Meeting and areas of weakness in functioning of Meeting, nurture spiritual growth in individuals and in our caring for others in the Meeting community.

 

Frequency of Meetings: Monthly

 

Regular Meeting Day and Time: Last First Day of the Month.

 

Activities: Organize and lead monthly sessions on Quakerism or spiritual growth; sit on Facing Bench weekly; organize special Meetings for Worship such as New Year’s Eve or vigils for Tom Fox; conduct marriages under the care of the Meeting and Memorials; organize Clearness Committee meetings for prospective members, couples seeking marriage under the care of the Meeting and individuals requesting clearness sessions; organize Friendly 8’s; write State of the Meeting Report, and others as needed.

 

Interaction with other committees: As needed and/or requested.

 

Outreach: Monthly discussions seek to nurture members and attenders spiritually, special August picnic, Meetings for Worship, clearness committees, nurture community ties, concern for social issues and individual growth.
